about
In the early nineties I was a six-year-old French girl in the USA. Suddenly finding myself a foreigner at school, I had to learn English fast if only to survive on the playground.
My name is Anna-Andréa. I was just Anna when my family lived in the US, and Anna Banana — to my dismay — for kids in my first grade class. Once I knew enough English, I gave a memorable speech and managed to change their minds despite consistently mistranslating the word ‘invent’.
“So, Todd first invited the nickname. I don’t know why he invited it and I don’t like it so now stop!” I kicked myself all the way home. “You fool, it’s a transparent word. ‘Inventer’ in French, ‘invent’ in English. You lost all credibility!”
But I must have had enough playground cred at least because the nickname was dropped despite my mistake, and I was no longer a foreigner but one of the gang.
If I hadn’t spent these formative years away from home, I wouldn’t be so attuned to cultural perspectives. My academic and professional journey later took me to the creative industries of Ireland and the UK, adding layers of nuance to my linguistic expertise. With an MA in arts management and an MArch, I navigated among institutions, architectural practices, and artists for over a decade. Having now returned to France, I continue to thrive in providing distinctive language services, and my international exposure positions me as a valuable asset for your organization.

services
interpretation
. Liaison interpreting for meetings, tours etc. Liaison interpreting is done without any specific equipment and into both languages. I would typically come with you on tour, in meetings or other events where you need to understand and be understood by French speakers.
. Consecutive interpreting for interviews, Q&As, presentations etc. This type of interpreting is used to translate a speaker’s message to a large audience. The set up can be quite flexible depending on your event.
. Simultaneous interpreting for press conferences, TV interviews etc. This type of interpreting requires acute concentration. It is typically done in a studio environment (sound booth) and can be done 20-30 minutes at a time. Longer conferences or broadcast require two interpreters.
subtitles
. French or English subtitles (.srt files)
. I create French subtitles for your videos and films in English. I can also translate from French into English if the subject of your content is within my field of expertise. I work with native English translators to ensure the result is of high quality.
. I work from your video files (.MPEG4 .MOV .MP4) or from a link to your video (Youtube, Dailymotion, Vimeo) and will deliver a rigorously timecoded .SRT file, ready for integration into your film.
